Opening Reception - "The Thousand and One Nights" Palestinian Artists in NY

Location: Postmasters Gallery 459 W19th at 10th Avenue NY, NY

An exhibition of  contemporary artists from Palestine curated by Mary Evangelista with Michael Connor. Includes art from Taysir Batniji, Hannah Farah-Kufer, Shadi Habib Allah, Shuruq Harb, Jumana Manna, and Sharif Waked.

7th Annual Arab-American and 11th Annual North African Cultural Street Festival

Location: Great Jones St., between Lafayette St. and Broadway, NY,

A street full of Middle Eastern delicacies, arts, live musical performances, dance ensembles, an outdoor argila cafe and so much more. Last year, over 25,000 people gained a memorable cultural experience at our festival! Hope to see you there!

In a city as congested and heavily populated as Cairo, hostility runs high as an adequate standard of living seems to be out of sight for the average worker, especially the Cairo cab driver.   El Bondera – The Fare Meter chronicles the story of two drivers, Ashraf and Ibrahim, as they focus the viewer’s eyes on a world of dysfunctional meters and their day to day struggle just to make a living.
